Give it to God

Another week has gone by and my long to-do list isn't any shorter! In fact, it's a little longer. Only a couple things crossed off, but I am sure proud of those couple tasks! I'm sure I am not the only one with this issue.

Often times when I look at all that things I want to accomplish over the course of the day, week, month, even year I experience a multitude of feelings. First, I get excited at the idea of accomplishing it all! Second, I usually feel motivated, often times I even create my game plan on paper. At that point, I'm ready to get things going! Then all of sudden, reality hits! My everyday life continues on, despite all these other plans I have made- all my other tasks do not stop just because I add new ones.

Recently, I have been pondering how many things would get crossed off that list or how many things wouldn't even make it to the list if I prayed and asked God for guidance? Would God help me determine what tasks are necessary for me to accomplish? Would God help me utilize my time better? The answer is YES! The bible says in Psalm 55:22, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you..." Sometimes it does feel like a burden!

So many times I have heard the phrase, "Give it over to God." To me is seemed silly to do that exact thing with my to-do list. But isn't that what God wants most? For us to seek Him and His help in everything? In the daily, mundane things? Yes He does! In everything, He wants us to seek Him, to ask for His help and guidance, to trust in Him! Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ." Really? The peace of God will guard my heart? In my silly, daily tasks I desire to accomplish? Yes! God will provide that!

I'm praying for strength and courage to do this in my own life. Is this something you can work on too? To give it to God? I know if I do that, I will be more satisfied with the amount of checkmarks I have on my list! I pray it helps you as well!

I pray that you find joy in "Giving things to God"!

Blessings,

Jamie
