A Prayer For Our Nation

Dear Lord,

I PRAY for the future of our nation.  I PRAY for a revival to sweep across our nation, to revive in us a spirit, a new heart, that our nation of darkness will be brought into the light.  I PRAY we will repent and turn from our wicked ways and acknowledge you as our Maker and Creator.  Oh Lord, I PRAY our nation will lift up their eyes to see your radiance, your splendor, your glory of what you have planned for us and see your greatness and love.  

I PRAY every mouth will proclaim your name as Lord.  We know you are the one who mends the brokenhearted, gives freedom to the captives and opens doors to those in prison (Isa. 61:1-3).  I PRAY for miraculous healing for our nation, for broken relationships to be restored.  I PRAY there will be no more injustice—our women and children, that they will be kept safe and no longer used for the plans of the evil one.  I PRAY the sanctity of marriage will be kept sacred and be valued between husband and wife—that the enemy will no longer reign in our lives.  I PRAY the value of life will be honored and no more babies will die to abortion, no more people will take their lives at their own hand and no more drugs will end lives too early.  

I PRAY as a nation we will come together as brothers and sisters in Christ and fight the right fight with our prayers and not against each other.  I PRAY our leaders will not be led astray by the evil one, not put their trust in themselves, but in you Lord.  I PRAY God, our leaders will acknowledge you as their Lord and accept you as their SAVIOR.  I PRAY you God, will guide our leaders in their decisions to rise up a nation that has a secure foundation in you God and not the lies and plans of the evil one, but in your plans and desires for us.  I PRAY for a spiritual awakening, that our leaders and us will be alert to the tactics of the evil one.  I PRAY we will recognize his evil plans and he will be stopped in his tracks. 

Lord we know you have already gone ahead of us like a devouring fire and won the battle for us (Gen. 9:3).  In you our victory has already been claimed.  I PRAY as many people as possible will vote to make a difference for the future of our nation.  I PRAY our religious freedoms will be preserved.  I PRAY for a world where we can live in unity and peace together.  I PRAY Lord our leaders will keep our country and world safe and live peacefully, not fighting with one another.  

I PRAY we can remain a nation that is “One nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”  I PRAY for restoration and the preservation of humanity, that our love will remain steadfast in you, God.  

We know this is not our home, that “our citizenship is in heaven” (Phil. 3:20), that our eternal hope is in you. We know you hear our prayers and are faithful.  You are so merciful and gracious.  We know you are the one who satisfies all the desires of our hearts and not the world. We know Your kingdom is everlasting and in your timing the righteous will rise up and the wicked will be destroyed.  We know you are near to all who call upon you and who seek you for their truth (Psa. 145:13-17).  

Psalm 33:4-5, 7

“For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.  He loves righteousness and justice;  the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.  Let all the earth fear the Lord;  let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!”  

Psalm 33:16

“The king is not saved by his great army;  a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.  The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.”

Our salvation and hope for our nation, does not lie in the hands of our future leaders, but in the hands of God.  

Keep praying for the well-being and future of our nation—our hope and lives depend on God’s divine power interceding on our behalf. 

It is only by the mighty hand of God, there is HOPE for our nation.   

Please vote tomorrow.  Vote to preserve our religious freedoms, to restore the sanctity of marriage. Vote no more babies will lose their lives and for the security of our nation.  Keep Praying!
